Hi,
I did some in house test with proxmox ve and I find it very promising.
Anyway since I would like to test in a real world environment we decided to dedicate a first server to make some load testing and.
For the test we will use a dell R930 server with 1024GB ram, 4 x E7-8890 v3 18 cores CPU, 24x900GB 10K (PERC H730P 12Gbps SAS PCI-E RAID) disks and 8x960GB nvme.
Since the most of VMs will be used for ecommerce applications, what is the best disk and CPU config?
Usually we use standard sas disks for OS and nvme for DB or applications.
Does it make sense to disable HT in CPU?
Any suggestion overall?
Thank you!

For testing, you could compare your hardware RAID to ZFS. ZFS is well integrated into Proxmox VE. It is not a problem to install Proxmox VE on the slower disks. So your usual separation should be OK.

There is a detailed explanation of virtual machine configuration options in the Proxmox VE reference documentation. This should give you an overview of what options you could benchmark!
