Hello Proxmox Community,

I have an issue with restoring VMs into a new host, the details are as follows:
1) I have an old host that houses about 6 virtual machines with a combination of mechanical drives and SSDs, they are not set as ZFS just as local storage LVMs, the version of Proxmox is 5.4 with all updates installed. I created a shared NSF storage to backup my VMs in my FREENAS box that runs version 11.2U7 of the Freenas software (it has a capacity of 28TB).
2) I have a backup job that ran every Friday to the NSF share with a maximum limit of 5 backups per VM, so I have at least 5 backups for every VM.
3) I upgraded the old host to Proxmox 6.1, but for some reason I cannot get it attached to my network (an issue for a separate thread), so I created a new server with Proxmox 6.1so I can restore my VMs while I troubleshoot the old server.
4) I attached the new server to the shared NSF storage from the FREENAS box, that worked out with no issues, then I restored the VMs from the backup using the GUI to the local LVM storage disk, the restores went without any issues, but when I try to start the VMs in the new host, I get an error that reads: "Error: storage 'Backup-Store-A' does not exist". Backup-Store-A is the name of the old LVM disk in the old server where the VMs were originally ran from. Is there some setting I missed, or what needs to be modified so the VMs can recognize the new local LVM disk?
Please let me know if there is more information needed (apologies if this is not the right format, this is my first time posting).
Thank you in advance for any help provided.
Best,
SC

Hi,
please provide the full task log of the backup restore task as well as the output of cat /etc/pve/storage.cfg and qm config <VMID> with the VMID of the VM causing issues.

Hello Chris,
Thank you very much for the very prompt response. I actually found what was causing the issue and the solution. The VMs had the ISO file mounted on the Virtual CD drive (the ISOs were not transferred to the new node), so the VM was trying to access it, but could not find it, once I selected "Do not use any Media" on the cd drive edit screen, the VM started with no issues.
I am fairly new with Proxmox and details like this are easily overlooked. Thanks again for the prompt response!
