Hi Team

Ive been looking for information on the PMG to help identify if the product will be suitable for our needs.

One of the reviews we have found are reporting that Macro viruses are regularly missed by PMG.

Can you please elaborate on this is this something handled by ClamAV and if possible how do we improve its accuracy?

This is the report advising of the macro virus issue.

* PMG by default used ClamAV as antivirus software - so the (macro) virus detection is based on its performance.
* There are external ClamAV signatures which offer improved accuracy, however some users have reported that they lead to a number of False Positives.
* PMG also has an integration of the Avast Antivirus for Linux (see https://pmg.proxmox.com/pmg-docs/pmg-admin-guide.html#pmg_configuration_file)
* Last but not least you can write your own custom-check-script and use its results in PMG (see https://pmg.proxmox.com/pmg-docs/pmg-admin-guide.html#pmgconfig_custom_check)

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the quick reply :)

What is Avast like for virus detection ?
