[SOLVED] Recommendations For Ceph Hard Drive Layout During Installation

I was just curious what the recommended hard drive layout scheme should be if I plan to use Ceph on the same machine Proxmox is installed? Proxmox by default creates a local and local-lvm storage but I am unable to create an OSD under the Ceph tab due to all my disk space being taken up by the logical volumes.

you need a full free disk for ceph osd. (ceph will format it with xfs)

Thank you for the reply. So what you are saying is that Ceph cannot use the same disk that Proxmox is installed on?

Yes. IMHO, a reasonable ceph setup needs at least 4 extra disks ...
