Hi,
I was wondering if someone could shed some light on a question i have PVE-ZSYNC. So in theory PVE-zsync is a way to backup vms when you have another proxmox machine. My question is when it does the snapshot and sends to node 2 how come it also stores in node 1 the snapshot itself?
ex: node 1 sends snapshot to node 2 but on node 1 has the snapshot and also on node 2

in theory if running pve-zsync its recommended to have both hosts to have the same storage.

Thank you

Thanks for the reply, so lets say on host 1 my vm gets damaged, i want to restore to that snapshot without using zfs send from host 2, would that be possible? to restore on the same host because it has the snapshot?

Thanks for the reply, but i was looking though the manual, could not find anywhere that says i can restore the snapshot of its own vm without using the node 2. So VM 100 somehow gets damaged on node 1 because of zfs snapshots sends it to node 2 and also keeps a snapshot of its own on node 1 i want to restore that snapshot from node 1 and not from node 2. Could not find anywhere that implies that i can do it

Thanks for the reply, figured it out. this is the command if anyone need it just change the rep_ part to your own

Code:
zfs rollback vmdata/vm-102-disk-2@rep_backupmedusa_2018-12-29_14:19:57

Also to revert to a snapshot that is not recent just add the -r at the end but remember it will delete all recent snapshots

Still not sure why ZFS cannot revert to old snapshots unless its deleted.
