I am currently trying to setup 2 guests on my host. I intend to have both guests using full HDD passthrough rather then using images.
Host:
-1 x 500gb HDD Sata2 "/dev/sdb"
Guest 1:
-2 x 120gb SSD in Raid 0 "not currently connected"
-1 x 1TB HDD Sata2 "not currently connected"
Guest 2:
-1 x 1TB HDD Sata 3 "/dev/sda"
My mobo has an on board raid controller that supports
"Intel® Z97 Express Chipset with RAID 0, 1, 5, 10 and Intel® Rapid Storage Technology 13 support"
Question 1: is how would I go about passing through the SSD's to guest 1 and maintain the raid volume already setup on them
Question 2: even though the HDD's are SATA do I still configure them in the vm as "ide0: /dev/sda"
some additional info, in my bios I can choose "SATA mode from Disabled, IDE Mode, AHCI Mode, RAID Mode" I was using SATA selection to RAID mode and had my windows installation in RAID 0 the system would boot the "Intel Raid Volume" so no addition software/drivers were needed.
