Question about Backup Pruning

Hello,

i am working with one Proxmox BS and multiple PVE servers and managed to configure it accordingly so that the pbs does backups of my vms regularly. But i have a question regarding the Backup schedules and the pruning of backups.
Some of my VMs seem to do their backups just as intended and the PBS deletes old ones like i configured it to do. But it seems to not work with some other VMs on the same datastore. While some VMs only count like 15 Backups in total, the others contain way over 200 Backups already and thats what i do not understand.

Because all VMs use the same datastore i assume that the pruning schedule should be the same for all vms? Or is there some kind of option that allows me to define for which vms it should be used and for which not?

Or could there be some kind of problem originating from my proxmox VE Host machines that "block" the PBS from deleting older backups? Maybe it overwrites the pruning or something?

I already tried to change the pruning schedules and tested a few things out (with help of the Prune Simulator) but apparently it does not change anything.

Are the backups protected? Protected backups will be skipped when pruning.

As far as i know i did not configure them to be protected but just to be sure where can i see that option? I do not find it inside the PBS GUI.

Open a backup folder. If the shield icon is green and the backup shows "protected" in its name, it is protected.

If that's not the issue, please share your pveversion -v, the task log of the prune job, your prune/gc config, and if possible the list of the backups of one VM for which pruning works, and one for which it doesn't
