Hi All,

I've been noticing that the qemu guest agent on my PMG is spiking to 100% CPU. I found another discussion topic that said to stop and start the guest agent and that should fix the issue. I did that a few days ago but again, today, I noticed the CPU spike up to 100% again. I have about 8 or 9 other VMs running on the same hypervisor, with the guest agent installed, and none of them have this sort of spike.

Has anyone else seen this?

Thanks,

have a (few) PMG systems running here with qemu guest agent installed - and none of them exhibit this issue.

Anything in the logs pointing to a potential problem?

If nothing shows up - maybe strace'ing the process could shed some light on the issue

I hope this helps!

Hi, thanks for the reply. After my initial post, I noticed this behaviour starts after the snapshot/vzdump backup of the VM. As an interim solution, I have set up a nightly cron to restart the guest agent but realize that this is not a permanent solution.

Hmm - just tried that - still not able to reproduce.
May check (apart from the PMG's journal for messages from qemu-guest-agent) also the log of the backuptask for some hints
