There are 2 Live servers with a few Virtual machines and a dedicated backup server. We have been trying to setup pve-zsync to take backup snapshot to a dedicated backup server.
We have a couple of the VM's running email services which have 500 GB Disk attached, however most of the VM's have smaller disk and disk activity is minimal.
We have run into problem with pve-zsync showing up errors. We have removed all existing backup images / snapshots and trying to setup new sync, but are running into problems.
Initially the pve-async setup to replicate every 15 mins, we have edited the crontab file, /etc/cron.d/pve-zsync to run every 720 mins. But even so, there is a sync ask generated every 15 mins. Since the disk with 500 GB data longer time the sync tasks are getting queued and failing eventually.
I understand the fact that part of the problem is caused by the slowness of disk write on backup server.
Could you please let me know if there is a setting other than the crontab where the execution of sync can be set to a higher value?
