I have two Intel NUCs that come with 240GB SSDs and I'd like to setup a two node proxmox virtual environment . When I installed proxmox on the first NUC, it partitioned 55GB for the proxmox software but I'm not sure how I can partition the rest for ISO files and running VM images.
On the proxmox GUI, I went to Disks -> LVM -> pve -> /dev/sda3 and it's showing 93% used w/ 16gb free.
Is this possible with everything on the same hard drive? Would it be better to boot proxmox from a MicroSD and use the SSD for ISO storage and running VM images? No RAID config or backup needed as this is a home lab for learning.

That does not work in the long run. PVE (as many other Linux distos) is not optimized for MircoSD and probably never will be.

Sure. I suppose you installed LVM thin as storage? Normally, you say the PVE installer, that you do not want all memory for PVE, did you do that? AFAIK, the installer will normally take everything and you will in fact use the whole disk for PVE (OS, VM, ISO, Container, Templates, etc.).

I did not see the 142GB 'data' partition in LVM-Thin with 0B used and 142GB available. I was able to upload an ISO to the local volume and then create the VM on local-lvm. Looks like it's working now, thanks.

55 GB for proxmox is way too much (at least from my perspective).
I am using a 8GB ssd as boot device. Due to me regularly cleaning it up 45% of that are free...

Can I repartition after installing or do I have to reinstall to repartition?

If you have not spend tons of time settings things up I would just do a reinstall.
That might be easier than modifying things afterwards
