Hello!

I'm having strange problems with my two proxmox servers. They are two blades in a new C3000 HP blade server system. These blades are also new. However they are crashing only with Proxmox. The strange thing is that not only one server crashes, but both of them. They are only connected on lan, but they do not share anything else. They are NOT clustered. When they crash, they stop completely. I was able to restart them (ILO :p ) and also get these screen-shots. I have already tested version from 1.6 to 1.8 and the same error. The problem might not be in proxmox, but I would still like you to look at the screenshots and help me out in order to identify the problem. oh yeah and RAM is ok on both servers - did memtest overnight - everything ok.

Hi,
perhaps problems with the powersupply? If you have one short spike (or powerloss) you can get curios things.

Udo

That could be the problem as both of the servers stop working at the exact same time (with same error). Will check what I can do with the power. I's strange however as the servers were ok for 3 weeks without problems but crashed four times in the last few days, two times of them today. I can not find any chronological pattern. And the two servers always fail at the same time.

Does anybody knows what that call trace means?

Are you using 'rsync' on OpenVZ clients?

One server runs a client with Virtualmin, so it might be possible that this one is running rsync. However, there is just one client running on the other host that is definetly not running rsync. I am still wondering how is it possible for both servers to crash at the exact same time.

We had exactly same problem when one of our clients did a large rsync inside OpenVZ some time back. It not only crashed the Host machine (and the other clients on it) but also somehow caused the network card to disrupt the LAN so that the other Hosts on the switch lost network connection.
