Hello,

for testing purpose I am trying to install Proxmox (newest Version "proxmox-ve_3.2-5a885216-5.iso" ) inside of VMware workstation 10. The installations always completes successfully (at lease that is what the Proxmox installer says). But at the reboot after the Installation it always ends up in a Grub error

"invalid arch independent ELF magic"

In the past i have installed it successfully in vmware before.

Any Ideas?

works here. what OS do you select on the new VM wizards?

I am using "Debian 7 64Bit" as selected OS in vmware.

I figured out that is seems to be a problem that the VM is lying on a Windows Storage Space. VMware seems to have issues with Storage Spaces .
I installed Proxmox on a normal basic volume and it worked as is should!
I tried it again on the storage Space and the error reoccurred. So this is a reproducible error of vmware!

edit:// A hack just came to my mind: "What if i create a vhd on the storage space and try to install the vm into it". This sounds a bit crazy but it actually works and boots!.. But i wouldn't consider it as recommended..
