Sorry Dietmar did not mean to cause you extra stress, just i never had to wait before posting before. Thought maybe i hit the wrong button the first time, then i noticed the popup message, but it disappears quickly so it took a couple of more posts to read it, and then maybe one or two because i was frustrated sorry.

I'm pretty sure something is wrong with your network configuration.

try to ping google.com or something and see if you get a reply.

Ok i fought with this most of the day turns out it was a nework error of sorts, firewall or shorewall rule to be exact. Anyways it was an incorrect DNAT rule that i fixed and got my updates going

changed
DNAT all dmz:10.0.0.104 tcp 80
to
DNAT net dmz:10.0.0.104 tcp 80

As always thanks for your help and sorry to waste your time on such an obiously my fault problem, but who knows it may help someone else out, as i know alot of peeps are using shorwall around here.
