PERC H830 RAID Adapter

Hi,

Can I use a Dell Perc H830 RAID Adapter with Proxmox VE?
Is this compatible?

Normally all LSI(Broadcom) Based cards what a Perc H830 is, are supported by the Linux Kernel.
But this controller is not listed on Ubuntu HCL and also DELL only support SUSE and RedHat.
This could an indicated that they use a proprietary driver.
I have no experience with this controller but generally, this controller will not work with ZFS or Ceph.

Hi,
I only use the older Dell controller, like the H730. Since H730 (+ hba controller) the controller support so called non-raid for disks, which mean path trough.

With this option, you can use it for ceph + zfs well.
I would assume, that the same work with H740, but I'm not sure.
