Hi,

KVM/QEMU doesn't support USB 2.0 (yet) so before I go off the deep end, has anyone installed a PCI USB card and used pci-passthru with it?

This is what I have set up on a kvm vm:

  1. Windows 7 32bit
  2. 4GB RAM
  3. 4 CPU cores
  4. 1G wired network (PCI-Passthru)
  5. USB Redirector connected to a USB based Drobo unit housing Movies/TV Shows/etc
  6. PlayOn.tv media software to serve both the media files and transcode online media sources like Netflix, Hulu, etc
I know I can install a dedicated network card for this vm and use pci-passthru but haven't tried passing a USB card. I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Basically looking for any 'gotchas' that anyone might have run into.

(Because of the nature of the setup, I'm not concerned with failing over the vm to another node)
