[SOLVED] Openvz backup error?

Hello.
I've tried googling for my error, but had no success.

We have a bunch of openvz container VMs working on our 3.1-3 Proxmox.
They work/create/etc perfectly, the only problem I encountered is connected with vzdump making the backups incredibly small (1-2mb most of them, but not all). Is this normal?

If I try to restore such backup via web interface to a new VM ID - It fails with an error like this:
snap2.PNG
If I open the config, it consists of nonsense :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: instead of a readable one, looks like the backup is not a backup anymore.
Inspecting the insides of a restored VM also shows, that all the config files look the same ..:mad: ... nonesense.

I tried manual backup, it does the same OK result in webgui upon any mode (shapshot/suspend, lzo/gzip), but not restorable with the same error.

The only thing I did in the past - changed the NAS where we store our backups, all done via Webgui, just added another storage, and changed the roles for storage.
But if I look at the backups done before that migration - they are the same small size.
Any ideas what i've done wrong?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Try using no compression at all or upgrade to latest version of proxmox. There has been some problems with using compression under backup in the past.

Thanks for your input.

Just tried backup without compression, mode "snapshot", well, the size is 21Mib.
Upon restoring - the same corrupted contents of VM and the config file.

Ofcourse, that VM that i'm backing up is working okay, all files accesable, etc.

Since its a minor version change I'll try the update, but not sure its the cause..

After update to version 3.2 manual backup completes with a resulting 1.1 GB dump (2mb earlier).
Haven't tried to restore it yet but it already looks like a normal backup.

Thanks for your assistance.
