Not able to login as root user in proxmox console, getting authentication failed error even though i tried to login with the correct credentials .Looks like password is getting expired .
Faced same issue last week then i reset the root password by logging into grub mode.After the password reset i was able to login successfully.Then again today i got the same issue.I see that root user password expiry date has been already set to never expired but i don't know why i'm getting this error.
Even not allowing me to connect through putty also.Could you please help me in resolving this.
 
Can you post operating system for the VM/CT(s) you are having trouble with? Are you able to SSH into the containers? Are you able to enter the containers via command line from the PVE node?

OS is Debian8.
Issue is I'm not able able to login to the proxmox console.
getting authentication failed error even though trying to login with correct credentials.
same issue when i tried to ssh from other putty session
issue is solved once after the root password is reset in grub mode
but it repeats after one week.So want to know the root cause and need a fix for it
