Newer kernel versions for Proxmox fail to boot with HP driver issues (cciss hpsa)

Have had ongoing issues with any updated Linux Kernel for Proxmox -- boot fails - I must back down to the -18 kernel for the boot to proceed.
The boot options in RED will fail - am attaching an image (screenshot) of the failure message of my HP DL380 G5 showing the message:
"CCISS: Unknown parameter 'cciss_allow_hpsa' "
And then it cannot boot because it cannot mount the main file system.
See attached image also, but the above text is the critical error message during boot.
