1.) its ok because eth0 is slave for vmbr0.
2.) no you did it wrong.
All you need to do is install proxmox again, and configure the network during install. When you reboot, the settings are automatically applied to vmbr0, not eth0. vmbr0 is automatically used as the primary network interface for the OS and all your VMs.
