New PVE installation, disk size in graphical installer?

Hi!

I'm installing a PVE 9.1 from scratch and wonder how to partition the disk space, a 2TB nVME, during the graphical installation process.
I've already a PVE running, unfortunately I do not remember which amount I've used during installation, but that's a different story since this device has got theree nVMEs installed anyway.

The result for the current setup and the 2TB nVME should be:
  • local: 100GB
  • local-lvm: 1TB
  • thin: rest of the available space, ~1TB
So question is, which value should I use in graphical installer? All of the available space or just a small part of it?

Thanks for the link!

Unfortunately the vid does not really explain how to use the installer to get above setup. I do not want use ZFS either, but ext4.
When going for ext4, I just can enter one value für the size of the harddisk (swap and other values I did noch modify during my first run).

OTH, this is the palce where I've chosen 150GB (for ext4) before and the result was not what I want.

From the graphical interface you can only set the swap and root/boot drive capacity, the remainder will be set to local-lvm, but you can manually resize and partition the local-lvm after installation.

The video shows you how to remove lvm-local and merge all that space into local.
It's the same disk anyway, right?
Ignore the ZFS bit. What you want is just before that.

So, should I use the full available harddisk size during installation? Or about 1TB? Is the rest freely available and I can use it for other storages?
