Hi
I have been running a Win 2008R2 VM server on Proxmox 3.4 for a while now with no problems.
I have setup another new box with Proxmox 4.2 and installed a Windows server 2012R2 VM this also is running well.
I wanted to keep both servers and also run a couple of Linux servers,
I am backing up the 2008R2 server to a directory on that same machine on an other hard drive.
Would the following work?
After a backup, remove the drive holding the backup image, put that drive into the Proxmox 4.2 machine and mount it. Then do a restore of the backup to the 4.2 machine.
Format the 3.4 machine, Install Proxmox 4.2, create the cluster, then I can move VM's around and add others?
Your opinion please.

Hi,
yes this will work (if the hdd are not part of your pve-vg).

"move VM's around" need shared storage.
