Hi everyone,

I need know if anybody can tell me if I can mount a DVD connected in a remote Windows/Linux PC as a Virtual Local DVD in PROXMOX that I can use in host system and VM's / CT's to install software.

Regards,

Ramses

Yes, I know that I can storage a ISO of a DVD in the PROXMOX Server and start the VM from him but I am seeing posibilities, doing tests and studying different options.

I am going to have a look to Spice.

@LnxBil with Spice can I start a VM from a remote USB DVD?

No, I don't think so. The feature you request is normally present in GUI-based virtualized like VMware vSphere <6, Hyper-V Management Console, Virtualbox etc. but not Proxmox VE, which is server virtualization software. VMware >= 6 dropped it also with the web GUI.

I cannot recall when I used a real CD/DVD the last time.
