I was doing audit when found some files missing in original Proxmox 5.1.2 install

dude@pve:~$ ls -l /vmlinuz* /initrd* /boot/vmlinuz*
ls: cannot access '/vmlinuz*': No such file or directory
ls: cannot access '/initrd*': No such file or directory
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 7960336 Jan 2 10:03 /boot/vmlinuz-4.13.13-2-pve
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 8017680 Mar 9 11:55 /boot/vmlinuz-4.13.13-6-pve
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 8017680 Apr 4 10:30 /boot/vmlinuz-4.13.16-1-pve
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 8017680 May 4 11:00 /boot/vmlinuz-4.13.16-2-pve
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 8398704 Apr 9 12:24 /boot/vmlinuz-4.15.15-1-pve
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 8415088 May 3 08:43 /boot/vmlinuz-4.15.17-1-pve

we generate a /boot/pve/vmlinuz and /boot/pve/initrd symlink for the latest kernel (which is used by the Rescue Boot option of your installer iso)
