Hi all,
I prepare our migration from 1.9 to 2.1 proxmox cluster.
We use 6 host connected to Hitachi SAN.
We have a "guest" Volume Group on which we create LV for each KVM Virtual Machine.
We have 70 KVM VMs running in production and we want to reduce the downtime due to the migration.

In order to migrate, we plan to :
Aadd another server connected to the same SAN in order it saw the "guest" Volume Group.
Just stop a vm in the old cluster.
Copy the vm configuration on the new cluster(transform it if necessary).
Launch the vm in the "new cluster".
After migrating some VMs, we plan to remove one server from old cluster, reinstall and add it to the new cluster.

Is this plan possible ?
Reading the document migration, i see the prefered method use proxmox backup/restore function but i don't know if it's applicable in LVM environment...

Thanks for your advices

Can anyone confirm/not confirm that i can mount my guest LVM Volume Group from another new proxmox cluster ?

thanks for your help

Should work, but be careful to avoid writing from both clusters to same LV. And do not create new LVs during migration.

Also, KVM network config changed slightly, so you need to manually adopt that.

thanks for your response.
I'm looking info about the KVM changes about networking but i can't find it.
Could you point me to the good ressource ?

regards
