Hi guys,

I'm now trying to migrate my old 64GB install SSD to a new 240GB SSD. I got a USB to MSATA adapter and I can reach the new SSD from console. How should I do this?

I saw posts about pvcreate to get the disk formatted to LVM, then vgextend to add it to the cluster, pmove to move the data, then vgreduce and take out the old disk...but this applies in a cluster. Not sure if the procedure is any different when only a single disk involved, and this happens to be the proxmox system installation (with GPT/EFI boot sectors etc)?

Thanks!

Thanks Wolfgang. So you suggest a full partition copy bit by bit? Last time I tried clonezilla it didn't boot.

I personally use dd for this and extend the LVM and FS manually.
So you suggest a full partition copy bit by bit?
Why not?
The story you should not use dd on SSD are outdated and come form the days where the endurance was not so grade.

Yeah...but last time it coudlnt' find boot nor do anything...maybe I was unlucky. Has this been done with clonezilla before?
