I followed this guide to passthrough a disk to a VM more than a year ago and it's been working flawlessly inside that VM since then. Though for some reason I added it as virtio2 and not scsi2 as said in the guide, I can't remember why but I must have read somewhere that is has better performance or something.
Yesterday I upgraded to Proxmox 7 and when I try to write a file, via SFTP using Filezilla, to that disk on that VM, everything crash and I get a kernel panic. I've been reading from the disk all day and nothing happened.
Proxmox is running on a Ryzen 5 3600 with 64GB, the said disk is a 6TB HGST Ultrastar and it doesn't have any smartctl error. I just tried to change from virtio2 to scsi2 and I could transfer what I wanted to transfer (the same files as before, same size, etc) on the disk without a kernel panic (yet, perhaps it will happen again later but at least this worked for this), so my guess is that writing through virtio is the problem. Any idea of what can I do/check to solve this?
