Kernel 4 panic after upgrade

We've had issues twice now updating the pve kernel on a system. After restart we get a kernel panic error that we understand is related to the fact that the corresponding initramfs file was not created.

We've tried by uninstalling that kernel via apt. When we do the post (de)installation scripts work fine trying to delete the corresponding initramfs and performing an update-grub. When we reinstall no further process happens so we have to manually issue a initramfs command to create the specific file and the manually perform an update-grub to solve the issue.

As we haven't find any references we assume it must be an issue with our system but we do not have a clue how to search for it. No error at all on apt log either.

We also get a "not correctly installed" reference on the kernel.

Thanks.

Hi,
could it be that your disk partition is out of space?

what does lsblk shows?

/boot could have been small at a point but not to that extend and not yesterday when we installed latest kernel.

sdg 8:96 0 238,5G 0 disk

/dev/sdg1 511M 320M 161M 67% /boot
