Hello everyone!

I am interested in purchasing HPE ProLiant DL160 Gen10. I've tried to check the manufacturer's website for compatibility issues with Proxmox 6.3, however, I could not find any information about it there.

I wanted to ask if any of you have this hardware and could share information how the compatibility issue looks like? Were there any problems with installing Proxmox on this hardware? Or are there any known problems with this hardware?

The specification of the hardware from offer below:

HPE ProLiant DL160 Gen10 Intel Xeon Silver 4210R 10-Core (2.40GHz 13.75MB) 128GB (2x32GB) DDR4 2933Y-R RDIMM 8 x Hot-Plug 2.5in
HPE 1.2TB SAS 12G Enterprise 10K SFF(2.5in) SC 3yr Wty Digitally Signed Firmware HDD
HPE 240GB SATA RI SFF SC MV SSD
HPE 96W Smart Storage Lithium-ion Battery with 145mm Cable Kit
HPE Smart Array P408i-a SR Gen10 (8 Internal Lanes/2GB Cache) 12G SAS Modular LH Controller

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hello

Proxmox VE is based on Debian but is using current Ubuntu kernels to have better support for current hardware and access to new features. This means that if you ask vendors about compatibility, it is more accurate to ask about their Ubuntu support. Currently, Proxmox VE is using version 5.4 of the Linux kernel. This relates to Ubuntu 20.04.

I recommend you to check out their HCL to see if that hardware is listed [0]
