I try to install proxmox on Debian Jessie 8.2 following this https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Install_Proxmox_VE_on_Debian_Jessie#Adapt_your_sources.list

As it says I need to "Configure the Logical Volume Manager" to create a volume group called "pve" and 3 logical volumes called "swap", "root" and "data".

The problem is that my hoster gives me already created and mounted "root" volume when I create a server. So I have no idea how can I move it to a new volume group.

Hi,
Skip this point.
Important is that your /etc/hostname, /etc/hosts and /etc/network/interfaces are correct and match.

I try to install proxmox on Debian Jessie 8.2 following this
This is a very outdated version so please update to current version and maybe update to stretch before install PVE.
