Ok I can't get into proxmox without my host name well I can't get into my screen because my lap top is acting up because of some bug in mint uma so what am I supposed to do?

Please... without more information it is really hard to tell... (From where should the name resolution come? What is your topology? What ist the IP address of the server? Is the server a DHCP-client (not recommended!)? What is the IP address of your laptop? Are they in the same network? Did the server actually reboot? All of these are unknown facts for me as a reader of your post... )

My recommendation: look at a locally connected display. Does it tell an IP address? Then try "ping <ip-address>" from your laptop or use the browser.
