Hello, I am new in Proxmox and not so experienced in Linux. I have installed Proxmox in a new machine and I have a vzdump from and older Promox machine. I have the file in my FTP server and I want to put it on my new Promox machine, however and although I can ping from my FTP server to Promox, I can not ping from Proxmox to FTP Server, so I cant get my dump for my new Proxmox.

Could you help me?

Thanks.

(sorry for my English, I write you from Spain)

Hi,
can you ping from PVE to anywhere?

Hello,

Do you use a firewall on your PVE host ?
If yes, is outgoing FTP allowed, and is the ftp NAT module loaded in kernel ?

BR,
Gautier.

Hello, from Promox I can NOT ping to my FTP Server but I can ping to my Gateway (mmm it is interesting), I also can ping new Proxmox from others computers.

To my server I can connect from the old Proxmox via FTP, in fact I putted th vzdump in it. Now I want to get it for my new proxmox.

When I try to connect via FTP to my server (in the same LAN), console shows "ftp: connect: Connection timed out"

If I go to the web interface of Proxmox, there is nothing in Firewall Tab....

SOLUTION: Eii, it was a rule in my PC where I have the FTP Server.... but it had to be "by itself" I didn't touch anything and the old was allowed... but not the new

Thanks!!!

If you cannot ping outside PVE, verify your DNS and default gateway setting.
By default PVE firewall is not enabled, so firstly, verify your network configuration.

Hello Ghusson, the problema is resolved.

The question was, that I don't know why the firewall of my FTP server had a rule that did not let the NEW Proxmox to connect to the server, once I deletted it, I can connect from the NEW Proxmox to the FTP and get de vzdump.
