hpet and Windows 2008 R2

I need hpet running in Windows 2008 R2 server in order to run VoIP applications based on Dialogic HMP 3.0 for Windows. Dialogic has an utility to test if hpet is working with their drivers and it failed in KVM but it succeeded on the same machine using ESXi. I read from another thread that there are timing issues when hpet is enabled and the advice was to disable it. Is there any solution to run with hpet enabled and have correct timing?
