But i dont know, how to setup the rDNS in Proxmox. I already asked my Network-Provider Deutsche Telekom AG,, they said it have to be by the Domain-Provider. They said, it have to be changed by the Server-provider. But i'm self the Provider, because them i ask here.

Hallo Community,
ich würde gerne Mail-in-a-box auf meiner Ubuntu 18.04 PVE Server Maschine installieren. Habe das gemacht, dann kam die Fehlermeldung: "Please change the rDNS from [Festnetz-Anbieter] to [Eigene Domain]". Ich habe schon den Festnetz Provider Deutsche Telekom AG. angeschrieben. Die haben gesagt, das ist eine Einstellung bei dem Domain-Provider. Also habe ich meinen Domain-Provider angeschrieben. Der Provider hatte aber gesagt, das man das beim Server-Provider einrichten soll. Da ich aber mein eigener Hoster bin, frage ich jetzt hier.
Kann mir jemand bei diesem Problem helfen?

The rDNS/PTR records need to be set by whoever controls the fixed IP address that you are assigned. Many providers of root servers allow you to set the rDNS setting via their web interfaces.

If you run it from your home, your ISP will have to set it. In my experience they will only do it if you pay for a range of fixed IPv4 addresses and won't do it for dynamically assigned ones.

Hi,
thanks for your help.
So we have to buy an Static IP Adress?

Well, how did you plan to make the service available from the internet without a fixed IP?
A DynDNS solution? For a mail server this not the best idea as for once, you already ran into the rDNS problematic, additionally, a lot of mail servers will not accept emails from an IP address that is associated with "dial up" ISP clients.

Where do you plan to run your mail server? Locally? On a business or private contract with your ISP?

Hey,
we have atm an Dynamic IP. It changed every time if we restart the router. That means that we have a time long an static IP.

That is the definition of a dynamic IP. Well, for running a sending email server from your network you need a fixed IP address. Those are in my experience only available on business contracts.

But all this is not a topic that affects Proxmox VE but rather the requirements needed to run a mail server from the local network. :)
