PVE.png Hi, there!
I am Cristina. I have a Linux LVM(1.7T) with RAID5. Now I want to mount a ssd(SATA) to one of my pve node(VM ID=700).
----------------------------
Device Start End Sectors Size Type
/dev/sda1 34 2047 2014 1007K BIOS boot
/dev/sda2 2048 262143 260096 127M EFI System
/dev/sda3 262144 3512991710 3512729567 1.7T Linux LVM
-----------------------------
My ssd(/dev/sdb) is shown in pve after I do RAID0 on my ssd. But it not shown in node 700.
---------------------------------
fdisk -l (pve)
Disk /dev/sdb: 232.4 GiB, 249510756352 bytes, 487325696 sectors

Units: sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
Disk /dev/sdc: 972 MiB, 1019215872 bytes, 1990656 sectors
Units: sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
Disklabel type: dos
Disk identifier: 0x23fe4e16
------------------------------------
fdisk -l (node 700)
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sda1 * 1 64 512000 83 Linux
Partition 1 does not end on cylinder boundary.
/dev/sda2 64 65271 523774976 8e Linux LVM
Disk /dev/mapper/vg_coordinate-lv_root: 53.7 GB, 53687091200 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 6527 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x00000000
------------------------------------
I want to mount SSD to my pve node(700) not the whole pve. That is to say, I want to see ssd(/dev/sdb) on my node 700 like below.
------------------------------------
fdisk -l (node 700)
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sda1 * 1 64 512000 83 Linux
Partition 1 does not end on cylinder boundary.
/dev/sda2 64 65271 523774976 8e Linux LVM
Disk /dev/sdb: 232.4 GiB, 249510756352 bytes, 487325696 sectors
Units: sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
Disk /dev/sdc: 972 MiB, 1019215872 bytes, 1990656 sectors
Units: sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
Disklabel type: dos
Disk identifier: 0x23fe4e16
------------------------------------
/dev/sdb ext4 233G 60M 221G 1% /mnt/ssd
It can be mounted on pve instead of pve node(700).
I want to the node and pve cluster share disk SSD(/dev/sdb) or /dev/sdb is on my node(700).
Thanks, everyone!

AFAIU you want to assign a physical disk (here an SSD) to a VM directly.
