how can i port physical disks to vm guest?

just installed this to try this out, i thought i just could go to vm guest and add from the dropdown menu but its all empty. Do i first need to wipe them, share them with the vm guest before i can choose it?

you cannot directly use a raw disk in a VM. Please have a look at the docs in order to get an idea of what storage options do you have https://pve.proxmox.com/pve-docs/pve-admin-guide.html#chapter_storage
