Hi all, i have install a testserver with proxmox 4.2 iso. after install hdd files are not in /var/lib/vz than they are in /dev/pve ??? if i would change a hdd of a system to new system i can not copy it to this dir and on webinterface the button upload is grey/disabled. how can i create a normal system or how can i configure my old hdds in new version and how can i import this to 4.2?
any ideas - i hope you can help- at the moment i do not understand new storagemodell... or can i change to old storagemodell?
best regards

New 4.2 systems use LVM-thin to store VM images. You can still use backup/restore to import VMs.

hi,. backup is not a good idea, well 1tb hdd files and bigger hdd size are very big to backup. do you have a other option, i have the hdd files on a hdd and can copy it to new server but i don´t know how i can do it.
then i 2nd qwuedtion comes, how can is copy a hdd file in new file format for exsample to a storage, well no files to copy exist without backup?

regards

hi dietmar, thats right, but its not a good idea to sync every time, if we get a new hdd file of user to sync it. we need a option to upload it or copy complete hdd file in a directory four mount. why it does not exist?
