HBA Mode dumbest idea i have ever had

hi!

i bought a p822 hp controller and switched it to hab mode. i knew, that when on hba mode, i cant boot off the harddrive.

i thought, ok why not boot from usb stick and the switch to the harddrive but i am stuck

does anybody have a howto please?

ok solved it like this

installed debian netinst
partioned by hand
boot on usb stick
root as lvm on top of raid
installed proxmox via packages

works
