i need to remotely change the operating system at startup, I have a problem activating grub-reboot
I have a test machine with an old pve 4.4 (but I have also tried with the next version) in dualboot with windows 7

I configure everything (https://wiki.debian.org/GrubReboot)
on reboot the item is regularly selected, but the next time it remains locked on that. (Windows 7)

the various grub commands "grub-editenv list"
even after the restart chosen again:
saved_entry = 0
next_entry = 5 (still the entry that I set to restart.)

if I do not reset the grub file env does not start linux but always win.

I tried on a recent debian 10 and it works ...
so not so if the problem is the pve grub described or other ...

Tips?

Try to set it under /etc/default/grub. There you can define the default boot entry. Be aware the the numbering might change with kernel updates.
