Follow UP/DOWN state of physical ethernet port to ethernet virtual port

Hello,

I have pfSense installed (or OPNSense) on Promox with good support and performance. This solution is the one I'm deploying on multiple place, on domestic type Internet access. However i've got a concern : when the Internet box restart or change its IP Lan adress (and reboot), the pfSense doesn't see the state changing, and didn't ask for a new IP with DHCP.

What could be the solution (but not the static ip conf)?

My idea : Is there a way to post the UP/DOWN state when it's changing of a physical network port to a virtual network port?

you could use something that monitors the link and executes a script (eg qm set VMID -net0 ....) when the link status changes,
