Situation:
A vm with a certain configuration.
Make a snapshot
Remove disk from hardware > rusult is unused disk
Remove unused disk > error > Not possible due to snapshot.
Remove snaphost > VM locks or hangs because config in snaphot differs from actual config
You cannot remove snapshot. If you try, machine hangs. Restoring the actual config to the config in the snapshot might not be possible.
When you have a snapshot and change hardware you should get an notice that says something like:
You have snaphots. Config of VM should stay equal to config in snapshot. Remove snapshot before continuing. Continuing may result in locked VM or data loss.
