Hi all,

I've just started testing out the latest version of the Mail Gateway in hopes that I can move over to this full time, but I have a question, which I am sure is one of very many moving forward.

I am trying to figure out how to get end users on the mail server who receive spam get notified that they have spam. From what I understand end users are supposed to get daily reports. I know that the administrator gets these, however I'd also like the end users to also get the notifications of spam that is being held back.

I'm pretty sure its supposed to, but there doesn't seem to be much information in the documentation on how to configure it.

So basically:
spam-email@spam-email.com --> myuser@mydomain.com --> Gets put into quarantine for review by end user (not administrators)
myuser@domain.com --> Gets daily report --> Can then release legitimate spam from web gui

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Thanks for the quick reply.

I have been through the admin guide. I guess that thing thats confusing me right now is that one of my users, has spam held in the queue, but overnight, there was never an email delivered to the end user. Is there somewhere that I need to initiate that process in order to email the end users nightly?

Check your settings and check you email logs via our "Message Tracking Center" - you will find the daily report to this end user, make sure you tick the "Include NDRs"

See my example for the daily report of the email address "office@proxmox.com"

Hey thanks again for the quick reply. I see your example and if I look at mine I see the message from the mail gateway to my server going to the admin user, but no emails from the mail gateway going to the end user for spam filtering for the daily report..

I've included a couple of screenshots. One showing the one from the postmaster to my admin user and the emails that go to the end user, with no daily report being sent.

The envelope sender of a daily spam report is empty. You filter for "postmaster"

Ah ha. So I see the message here which I think is to the end user, however it was bounced.

So I think I've found the problem. I just need to know a couple of things:
"Feb 22 00:05:27 mx postfix/smtpd[19550]: disconnect from localhost.localdomain[127.0.0.1] ehlo=1 mail=1 rcpt=1 data=1 commands=4"

--> Should this be FQDN of the mail gateway server I'm running?

"Feb 22 00:05:28 mx postfix/smtp[19553]: B6D59160A66: to=<david@64sqrd.com>, relay=connect.digidns.ca[192.168.11.10]:25, delay=0.25, delays=0.06/0.03/0.06/0.1, dsn=5.7.1, status=bounced (host connect.digidns.ca[192.168.11.10] said: 550 5.7.1 Authentication Required (in reply to end of DATA command))"

--> Where do I add in the authentication for this to send to the end user?

=========================
Why does the same message with an empty header that gets delivered to my admin user on the same email server work when the one to the end user doesn't? Do you know off hand what it is that I'm missing?

By the way, thank you very much for the help with this.
