Hi All,

I would like to setup pfsense as a quorum device for proxmox, i know it's not advised to install that service on a firewall because of a security risk.
I have two mini-pc's with new ssd's for a 2 node proxmox ha install and one buffy pfsense firewall (baremetal) that's idle most of the time.
Wouldn't like to invest in a new 3rd node.

Pfsense already supports high availibility between multiple pfsense nodes, but i read proxmox only supports the qdevice deamon.
Pfsense is based on a custom freebsd install, but freebsd repo's can be installed.

I found some articles how to setup corosync/peachmaker on pfsense

https://vermaden.wordpress.com/2020/09/03/freebsd-cluster-with-pacemaker-and-corosync/

https://docs.oracle.com/en/learn/oci-pfsense-ha/index.html#introduction

Are the corosync/peachmake services the same as "qdevice demon service" just named different or can they be used? if not can the qdevice demon be installed on freebsd?

https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=270622

The linux platform is new to me so i'm learing, but it's sometimes confusing and alot to grasp.

Thanks for your support and this great forum.
