Cluster for home usage?

hi,
I have three old workstations at three different houses of my family as servers. They are all connected via VPN. I was running MS Hyper-V on them and want to switch to proxmox. Should I connect them by creating a cluster? What are the benefits? In my test setup I had nothing but trouble with it.

thanks in advance,

Avoid clusters that are geographically dispersed like you describe it.
Distances are too wide, bandwidth too low.
You will only have trouble with this.
A cluster requires majority to operate so by loosing your WAN connection you might be in a lot of trouble because your local server will drop out.
You will likely reach far more stability and availability with just one server.
My conclusion: Either place all servers in one site or use the others as DR or backup site.
