Cannot reach the GUI or ssh from VPN

I am trying to use the built in VPN on my Asus router to remotely work on my server, but I can't reach the proxmox interface from either the webGUI or SSH. I've tried changing settings in the router, but no luck.
I can access VMs hosted on the server, but I can't even ping my server from the OpenVPN. Any ideas?

- what exactly did you "tried changing" in the router?
- did you try with different webbrowsers, like Chrome, Firefox?
- is your pve host in the same subnet as your vm's?
