can some one point me to a how-to for set up email via hotmail server?

I have a home box with Proxmox VE 5.2
all is running well and all but I want to have an alert emails when something is wrong.
I recently had an issue with one drive failing on me and as I am running ZFS mirror pools no data was lost but I would like to get an alert sooner rather than later.

I have several hotmail accounts so I can use one for my alerts but no emails is going out

Hi, install exim or postfix (or "dpkg-reconfigure" it) then you get the options for an outbound smtp relay, choose that and give your hotmail smtp and credentials.
