Hi, to everyone this is my first post here :)

I am trying to configure proxmox in vmware so i could later switch vm on dedicated proxmox machine for home use.
I would like to install vm on usb(in proxmox on vmware) configure it and then install promox on dedicated hw/PC and use usb stick with vm on it.

Is this possible ? Can i install vm on usb or sd card ?

its basically possible but its not recommended - usb sticks and sd cards are known to be very unreliable in heavy use.

Main reason for me to consider using multiple flash devices is performance.
I cant afford to build proxmox on raid for home use. So i am worried about performance of running few vm and proxmox all on same hard drive.
Do you have some experience with running proxmox and vm-s from same hdd or any advice on that topic ?

I expect to run pfSense + FreeNas + Debian all the time and occasionally win7. Clients are two desktop linux machines.
