bug in Centos 6 And Centos 7 pre-define templates

Hi community,


i've configure Proxmox VE 5 in debian 9.

When i was install centos 6 in Proxmox.

we cannot be login on that machine, screenshort are below

After we will install centos 7 the it cannot ping with any public network or google.
i can also check also check ifcfg-eth0 file it perfectly configure.

but when i check ip address (using "ip a" cmd) it's does not show any ip.

guys please help me to resolve the issue

I can confirm that this also happend to me. I solved / avoid setting in the ct definition for console the last entry, ( I do not remember exact )something like /bin/bash or shell

I will access centos 6 using "shell", but my VM are not pinged with google IP (8.8.8.8),
even that the gateway are also not pinged.

also, I can check with same IP and gateway with any other VM(Ubuntu),
It's are perfectly ping with gateway and google IP (8.8.8.8)

hi,

i just tested two templates: centos-6-default_20191016_amd64.tar.xz and centos-7-default_20190926_amd64.tar.xz both unprivileged and with ipv4 dhcp and all the default settings (also tried with static ipv4 and worked as well)

indeed the centos6 template does not allow logging in, but as @guletz mentioned if you switch the console mode to shell (can be found in Options -> Console Mode) it will work.

centos7 worked completely fine, all the default settings with ipv4 dhcp and ipv4 static, and i was able to log in, send pings and access the internet

i remember there was some problem with the centos template when some ipv6 mode is used. maybe that has something to do with your problem?

if you can't make the templates work like i explained, then i recommend upgrading to the latest PVE 6

* where are you getting the templates? i tested the two centos templates we have available and they worked (see my previous post)

* post your container configuration (pct config CTID)

** and maybe an lxc debug log [0]
