Hi Folks :
A newbie here !
I have search for a specific answer to this question, no luck so far ...
My first Proxmox (8.1) installation : 1 machine w/enough RAM/DISK, and 1 Ethernet interface, installed in my home network (my ISP providing local addresses via DHCP). I have a local LAN Switch, no additional router (just my ISP Modem).
- I understand it is not convenient to have the Proxmox server configured getting its main IP via DHCP (those addresses can change in time ...), however, my ISP modem only provide local addresses via DHCP
QUESTION : what is the best practice in this case ?
- Setting my only private IP address to my server and configure routing from that IP range (in the same Ethernet Interface) to the ISP using the DHCP provided IP address ? So one Ethernet interface with two IP ranges ?
Any suggestions / pointers ?
Regards
Arturo
