Hi All

We have two own [assumble] servers with back to back fiber channel connectivity. We are using SSD disks for testing. [We are 100% sure all hardware components [FC-FCOE, SSD, SATA controller, Mother board] support more than 6 Gbps]

If we are running plain Windows servers on both servers, bandwidth is 6.1 gbps.

But when we are running Windows servers as a VMs on Proxmox 3.4, bandwidth 3.5 gbps.

We created VM's using virtio [virtual Nic & disks]. Virtual disk as a RAW.

I am unable to understand where is problem, Is proxmox kernel having any bandwidth limitation.
Please help me regarding this..
Thank you so much for advance....

I suggest you test also with the current Proxmox VE 4.3.

3.4 is outdated.

Thank you so much for your reply.
Even i am planning that, but is any clarification like current version of Proxmox VM's can support more bandwidth than older version of proxmox VM.

Hi All,

I am happy.... i got my expected speed [6 Gbps] on Proxmox 3.4 with below changes.... [6 Gbps means, my SSD and Mother board SATA ports support 6 Gbps only]

1. Just i installed pve-kernel-4.4.24-1-pve_4.4.24-72_amd64 on Proxmox3.4..
2. While rebooting time, go to Proxmox advance boot option,
It will show two kernals [old & New], i choose latest kernal
3. Installed Windows server 2012 VM with [Virtio disk with RAW, virtio network interface] [Use latest version of Virtio drivers]
4. Above configuration i did in second server [FCoE connected back to back]
I tested Data transmits, it pump to 6 Gbps+,,

Thank you so much for your support.....
