HI,

Could you please advise/share on how I can protect myself incase my cluster will get corrupted?
For example if a cluster will brake or disappears?
Is there a way to backup cluster and ceph settings in case one of those files (like config files used by cepch and cluster) get corrupted?
Is there automated process available for such "backup" or it has to be done manually?
Please share how you are protecting yourself from such disaster...
Thank you!

Hi,

I would backup the /etc/pve directory.
In this directory are all needed configuration files.

Hi,
Thank you for your quick reply.
It seems that this is good practice to backup everything that is located at /etc/pve
I was wondering, if there is anything built in into Proxmox that can backup this automatically, so when disaster strikes it could be use to recover etc.
For now looks like it has to be initiated manually and I was thinking if there is something like a tool at disposal, that can streamline the process of backup and recovery.
Also, when backing up, is it enough to backup this location on one node or do the backup on every node, and keep the backups for particular nodes...
Thank you for your kind help.

Kind regards

Tom

No, there is no built-in backup for settings.
